ITT Recruitment Coordinator

About the role

As ITT Recruitment Coordinator, you’ll proactively contact people who have submitted an Expression of Interest, provide clear guidance on routes, eligibility and timelines, and help them overcome common barriers to applying. You’ll triage enquiries against subject and regional need, and work closely with regional teams to ensure candidates are supported at the right time, in the right place.

The ideal candidate will have experience in recruitment, admissions, outreach, customer engagement or advisory roles and be confidence using data and systems to track interactions and outcomes.

Please note that occasional evening work may be required to liaise with candidates outside normal working hours.

Key responsibilities

Candidate engagement and support

  • Proactively contact EOI candidates (primarily by phone, supplemented by email) who have provided consent, to offer personalised guidance and encouragement to apply
  • Hold supportive, informative conversations to understand candidates’ background, motivations, subject interests and location preferences
  • Provide clear, accurate information about ITT routes, eligibility, timelines and next steps
  • Help candidates identify and overcome common barriers to application (e.g. confidence, understanding of requirements, practical concerns)

Triage and prioritisation

  • Use agreed criteria to prioritise EOIs for proactive contact, based on subject demand, regional capacity and candidate readiness
  • Identify candidates who are well‑matched to current opportunities and those who may require longer‑term nurturing or signposting
  • Ensure that advice given to candidates reflects up‑to‑date information on course and placement availability

Collaboration and handover

  • Work closely with regional recruitment and delivery teams to ensure smooth handover of specific candidates at the appropriate point
  • Share relevant candidate insight to support effective local follow‑up and interview preparation
  • Act as a consistent central point of contact, helping to reduce duplication and inconsistency in early‑stage engagement

Data, insight and compliance

  • Accurately record candidate interactions, outcomes and next steps in relevant systems
  • Capture qualitative insight on candidate motivations and reasons for progression or drop‑off
  • Ensure all activity complies with GDPR and organisational data‑protection policies, including consent management and opt‑outs
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the pilot by supporting reporting on volumes, conversion and candidate experience

Additional recruitment responsibilities

  • Support with recruitment events as required, particularly with promoting and liaising with EOIs in the build and follow up stages
  • Host small-scale informal sessions with EOIs as required to improve candidate engagement options
  • Manage the ITT Recruitment external communications channels to provide prompt and supportive contact with EOIs
  • Support ITT Marketing Manager with day-to-day marketing administration as required
  • Support ITT Recruitment & Marketing Manager with day-to-day recruitment administration as required

What we’re looking for:

  • A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching
  • Experience in recruitment, admissions, outreach, customer engagement or advisory roles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in one‑to‑one conversations
  • Ability to explain complex processes clearly and empathetically
  • Confidence using data and systems to track interactions and outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Commitment to fairness, inclusion and positive candidate experience

Working at the National Institute of Teaching

Contract: Fixed-term contract for four months, full-time.

Salary: £31,537 per annum + benefits (pro-rata)
