Regional Programme Manager

We currently have two vacancies available due to internal secondments. Both are fixed term with a strong chance of one becoming permanent. In this role, you will help ensure participants have an excellent experience, partners are well supported, and programmes are delivered smoothly, consistently and to a high standard.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Faculty, Programme and campus teams, building strong relationships with Associate Colleges, facilitators and other partners. You will oversee key operational processes, support effective communication, coordinate delivery activity, respond to participant and stakeholder needs, and use feedback and engagement data to inform continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and confident working across multiple priorities. You will bring excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build positive, constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will also have a good understanding of the DfE coherent offer, including but not limited to ECTP and/or NPQ. This role is based at our Beckenham Campus (BR3 1QP) and is a hybrid with the days working at home to be agreed at interview. The role will also involve national travel and occasional overnight stays. The NIoT also brings colleagues together for an annual all-staff away day, which all staff are expected to attend, and which usually includes an overnight stay.

Corporate responsibilities

• To ensure that the responsibilities of the role are carried out in a way which reflects the mission and the values of the NIoT.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Manage the experience of participants on the programme, ensuring effective communication and appropriate support to maintain high satisfaction and retention.
• Support the development and maintenance of efficient and effective processes to manage the successful delivery of the NIoT programmes to a large number of participants/trainees.
• Acquire venues, resources and co-ordinate the efforts of facilitators, coaches etc, in order to deliver all levels according to plans.
• Help improve the quality of our materials and resources to support participants in their learning and development.
• Work closely with the Faculty team to prepare and deliver the national elements of our programme.
• Actively seek opportunities to promote and advocate for the programmes and the NIoT as a whole, contributing to profile raising and marketing activity in the region.
• Build effective and positive relationships with our Associate Colleges.
• Provide training on Institute systems, processes and quality standards to Associate Colleges and other partners where required.
• Communicate changes and developments relating to the programme to Associate Colleges ensuring that they have access to curriculum and administration resources.
• Represent the campus and Institute at events in a positive and constructive manner.
• Ensure that records are maintained in line with contract requirements.
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedure relating to health and safety, security and reporting to concerns in accordance with procedures.
• Complete thorough onboarding for all participants, ensuring compliance / eligibility measures are adhered to.
• Actively seek to resolve participant issues in a timely and professional manner
• Work with the Head of Programmes to support with HR related matters
• Ensure facilitators meet eligibility requirements and SCR records are accurately maintained
• Work closely with facilitators, both internal and external, ensuring they are supported to provide the best participant experience.
• Work with the Head of Programmes to analyse feedback and engagement data, ensuring actions from this feed into future programme management 
• Ensure up to date payment for facilitation, venues and any additional programme running costs e.g. refreshments and course resources
• To support with regional delivery at your local campus. This will involve setting up for delivery sessions and welcoming participants/trainees.
• To sit on the viva assessment panels for a maximum of three days per year to support the process.
• To attend and support the delivery of the annual NIoT Graduation Day.

Essential criteria

• A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching. 
• A secure understanding of the DfE coherent offer.
• The ability to quality-assure delivery and programme experience across multiple programmes. 
• Outstanding track record of development and delivery against tight timelines. 
• Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills. 
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. 
• A pro-active, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to thrive in a start-up environment. 
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Desirable criteria

• Qualified Teacher Status 
• A good understanding of NPQs and/or ECTP  
• Previous work experience in Microsoft Teams and Dynamics 
• A degree and/or professional qualification relevant to the post and/or equivalent learning through professional experience 

Working at the National Institute of Teaching

Contract: Two full time roles, fixed term contracts one until 31 August 2027 and 31 August 2030.

Salary: £42,768 per annum, pay award pending.
