We are seeking an experienced and highly organised administrator to join our regional Initial Teacher Education (ITE) team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing and ambitious organisation whose mission is to improve the quality of education for all children through great teaching.
Working closely with the Regional ITE Programme Manager you will help coordinate and support the planning, delivery and administration of our ITE programmes across the East, South and London region. You will also collaborate with colleagues across the National Institute of Teaching, helping to create a seamless experience for trainees, mentors, schools and partners.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team at an exciting stage of development. Initially, you will support the growth and delivery of our ITE provision across the East, South and London region while we continue to expand and strengthen our programmes. You will work closely with regional colleagues and partner schools to ensure that every aspect of delivery reflects the high standards and ambition that define the NIoT.
Candidates must live within commuting distance of our London campus in Peckham. The role is campus-based for four days per week, with one day per week working from home. Occasional travel across the region will also be required as will travel and overnight stay for our annual staff away day.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Administering our ITE programme within the East, South and London (ESL).
To be a key point of contact for our regional programme participants and programme manager, supporting them with responses around programme logistics and administration:
- To assist with ensuring all internal and external records are kept accurate and up to date including Single Central Records across regions, DfE Register, Tracker of Trainees, Mentor attendance and Distribution Groups.
- Ensuring all relevant stakeholders have appropriate access to MS Teams Tiles, Apprenticeship documentation, IRIS and all other external portals/systems.
- To assist the Registry team with registering all trainees on Student Finance, ensuring applications are accurate portal updated with any new applications, changes, deferrals and withdrawals.
- To assist the Registry team to ensure accurate record keeping and the smooth administration of the PGCE programme.
- To draft and post programme updates for trainees and colleagues on Microsoft Teams, IRIS and other platforms as required.
- To set up and help prepare key events for programmes, including the drafting of materials, printing, venue set up, etc.
- To manage the reception desk by greeting visitors, handling incoming calls and inquiries, directing guests appropriately and ensuring a professional, welcoming front-desk environment.
- To support key events e.g. managing sign-in, etc.
- To support the Regional Principal, Head of ITE, Deputy Heads of ITE and ITE Programme Manager with all other administrative efforts around the School Direct, PGTA and Assessment Only programmes. This might include tasks like; helping to organise key meetings with our Associate Colleges, administrative tasks related to our other programmes (ITE, ECF and NPQ).
- To support team coordination and team building activities.
- To provide diary management and PA support as required.
Essential Criteria
- A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching.
- An interest in the education sector and a belief in the value of teachers and school leaders.
- Previous administrative experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office software packages, such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as search engines and online databases.
- A pro-active approach that focuses on solutions.
- Highly proficient in managing and monitoring processes which drive successful reporting.
- A sensitivity to the requirements of different audiences and an ability to adapt style appropriately.
- A track record of, or the potential to co-ordinate key events or programmes (ideally in the education sector).
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience of working in a remote and geographically distributed team.
- Previous experience in the education sector.
- Experience of using management information systems and/or various online learning environments, particularly Microsoft Teams.
- Previous team co-ordination/PA experience.
Working at the National Institute of Teaching
Contract: Full time and fixed term for four years due to an internal secondment
Salary: £34,356 per annum, pay award pending.
