Overview
When used effectively, AT can be an important part of inclusive, high-quality teaching. These materials are adapted and developed from those featuring in the NIOT Early Career Teacher Programme.
The resources offer a short introduction to how Assistive Technology can be used in teaching practice. The materials are:
- free to access
- aimed at teachers, but relevant to anyone working in education
- designed to be flexible – you can dip in and out as needed
Materials
The examples of brands and assistive technology (AT) products in these case studies are illustrative only. They do not imply endorsement or recommendation of any particular tool by the Department for Education or the National Institute of Teaching. Decisions about which AT, if any, is appropriate will always be context-dependent. You should always follow DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance and seek advice from relevant specialists where needed.
