Training to be a teacher with the NIoT is different. You’ll be in the classroom from the start and experience two different school settings to broaden your experience. You’ll be part of a national cohort of over 1,000 trainees from across the country and learn with them for one day a week at one of our campuses.

Learning by Doing
Immersion is the cornerstone of our approach; we believe in learning by doing. Our trainees undergo 39 weeks of professional learning and teaching practice within two placement schools.
This experience ensures that theory and practice go hand in hand. You’ll learn new concepts and techniques during your Core Training sessions, then could practice and implement them in the classroom the very next day. It’s this fast-tracked learning cycle that keeps our trainees agile and responsive.

Flexibility is key to our training programmes. We offer both full-time and part-time training options and three different routes into teaching: fee-paying, salaried or an apprenticeship. This flexibility allows you to tailor your training schedule to best suit your personal and professional needs.
